The Problem

Fans already want to support DJs. The problem is timing, friction, and context. Venmo, PayPal, Patreon, or a casual DM aren't native to the emotional peak of a set — by the time a fan finds the right handle and app, the moment's gone. DJs create high-energy, high-value experiences constantly without any monetization mechanism that feels natural to the crowd in front of them.

DropLove turns that peak into a single, branded, culturally-aligned action: scan, tip, done. It's positioned as a performance-native tipping layer for clubs, livestreams, promo posts, and QR flyers — not a broad social network, at least not yet.

First Impressions

Onboarding is shot like a promo, not a product tour — real event photography with a one-line promise per screen, split between the fan side (support in real time, make it personal) and the DJ side (turn every set into income), closing on the shared thing both of them are actually there for.

Who It's For

DJs need a fast setup, a clean public profile, and real-time visibility into who's supporting them — the goal is a DJ promoting their own DropLove QR unprompted, the moment they see tips land. Fans want to show love without cash, awkward conversations, or a complicated signup — the goal is a tip completed in seconds, with the confirmation screen good enough to share. Admins keep the alpha curated: managing invites, approving DJs, and protecting trust while the core loop gets proven.

That three-way split starts at account creation — a fan or DJ/producer picks their side on the very first screen, so the rest of onboarding (genres for fans, profile setup for DJs) never asks the wrong question of the wrong person.

The Primary Flow

The one thing the MVP has to prove: a fan can go from a live moment to a completed tip with almost no cognitive load.

  1. Fan sees QROn a flyer, phone screen, stream overlay, sticker, or DJ profile link.
  2. Scans / tapsLands directly on the DJ's public profile or live event with a clear tip CTA.
  3. Selects amountPreset or custom amount, with an optional message or emoji.
  4. Pays securelyApple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or card, through Stripe.
  5. Love landsFan sees confirmation; DJ gets live activity and reviews earnings later.

For the DJs

The DJ side is built around one habit worth reinforcing: check DropLove, see the tips land, share the QR again. A real earnings dashboard with top supporters and tip trends, an activity feed that separates earnings from alerts, a QR code screen built to be printed and posted, and event management so tips can be tied to a specific night, not just a generic profile.

Keeping the Alpha Curated

None of this works if trust breaks — a ghost charge or an unmoderated flood of tips kills the loop faster than slow growth ever would. The admin panel exists to keep the alpha small and clean on purpose: a platform-wide pulse (active DJs and fans, tip volume, pending approvals, payout errors), tip moderation with a flagged queue for anything reported (NSFW language, harassment), and role-based access so a moderator's reach stays scoped below Super Admin.

Brand & Voice

DropLove is built to feel emotionally native to DJ culture — direct, celebratory, useful, never corporate. Dark, high-contrast UI, strong CTA color, soft rounded cards, and energetic accent moments reserved for confirmations and reactions.

Where It Stands

DropLove is fully designed across all three roles — fan, DJ, and admin — and moving into build: Flutter for the app, Firebase for auth/data/notifications, Stripe Connect for payouts and checkout. The rollout is deliberately narrow before it's public: a private alpha of 20–30 invited DJs and 50–100 fans, run hands-on with direct support, before any waitlist or open signup.

Honest state: this is a designed-and-scoped MVP heading into build, not a shipped product yet. The scope is intentionally narrow — the core tipping loop, not subscriptions, merch, leaderboards, or a social graph — because the first job is proving DJs will share the link and fans will tip in the moment before expanding anywhere else.

What's Next

Private alpha first, to validate real tipping behavior and find friction in the flow — transaction success, QR usage, payout setup, and whether DJs promote the link unprompted. From there, a beta expansion opens fan signups and adds social sharing before scaling city-by-city through venues, collectives, and livestream communities. Post-MVP, the roadmap moves into subscriptions, a gig calendar, and eventually leaderboards and multi-currency support — alongside the DropLove ↔ Set-Set tipping integration once Set-Set's Creator claiming path reopens.
